Hawthorne Joinery creates bespoke fitted furniture, staircases, and architectural woodwork for homes and commercial spaces across the UK. Every piece made to order, every joint cut by hand.
We don't work from catalogues. Every commission starts with a conversation and ends with something made precisely for the space it will live in.
Hand-built kitchen cabinetry in solid oak, walnut, and painted hardwood. Designed around your kitchen, not the other way around.
Bespoke staircases from traditional turned spindles to contemporary open-tread designs. Structural and architectural joinery at its finest.
Floor-to-ceiling fitted wardrobe solutions in any timber or finish. Maximise every inch of your space with storage that looks like furniture.
Bespoke bookcases, home office cabinetry, and reading room joinery. The kind of rooms people don't want to leave.
Hardwood internal and external doors, window frames, and sash window restoration. Period-correct or contemporary — all made to measure.
Bars, restaurants, retail fit-outs, and office interiors. Bespoke joinery that makes commercial spaces stand out from the competition.
Hawthorne Joinery was founded in 2001 by Thomas Hawthorne, a third-generation joiner who learned his trade from his grandfather's workshop in rural Yorkshire. What started as a one-man operation has grown into a team of eight skilled craftspeople — but the philosophy hasn't changed.
We use solid timber wherever possible. We don't believe in veneered MDF masquerading as quality joinery. Every piece we make is built to last a lifetime and then some — the kind of craftsmanship that gets passed down with the house.
Discuss Your Project"Thomas built us a kitchen that completely transformed our home. Two years on and it still looks like it was installed yesterday. Worth every penny."

We visit your space, listen to your brief, take measurements, and discuss timber choices, finishes, and budget. No obligation, no pressure.
We produce detailed drawings and a fixed written quotation. You see exactly what you're getting before a single piece of wood is cut.
Your piece is handmade in our workshop using traditional joinery techniques and the finest sustainably sourced timber. Takes the time it takes — done properly.
Our team installs your joinery with the same care it was built with. We don't leave until it's perfect — and we're always on the other end of the phone afterwards.
